Amazon, a giant in the e-commerce world is launching its latest VR technology. This will enable realistic 3D renderings of home furniture into a virtual living room.
They’ve developed a 3D rendering of how their furniture will look in the living rooms even before they buy it. It’s called Amazon Showroom and it’s incredible! Using this new tool, users can add and adjust anything from the virtual living room, from the walls to the furniture, from the carpets to the flooring and more. In addition to the pre-selected designs, they can generate and saving multiple room designs too. They can even add their own room designs to their shopping cart.
The 3D tool is available on Amazon’s website and mobile app.
As VR and augmented reality (AR) technologies continue evolving, they are becoming a more popular means of personalizing online furniture shopping. For example, Walmart debuted its 3D virtual shopping tour in June, a service that enables customers to browse a virtual living room.
Wayfair recently launched a new augmented reality app that allows customers to visualize items in their homes with the help of mixed reality. The app is powered by Magic Leap’s spatial computing platform, and it helps customers to view the size and scale of products in the context of their own living spaces.
Augmented Reality is proving to be the next big thing in the furniture market! With the popularity of AR services on the web, furniture shops have been harnessing their potential to create virtual product catalogues for their customers to check out things in a whole new level.
